After bringing in three new players in January, including Oscar Cortes, the manager appeared to have solved one issue when he signed him. However, Cortes’ effect was cut short by an unfortunate injury.

According to a report by Talksport’s top football writer Alex Crooks, Rangers are getting ready to bolster their attack when the transfer window opens.

The only other player on the current Rangers roster that presents a genuine danger to score goals on the forward line is Abdallah Sima, along with Cyriel Dessers.

The Senegalese international recently stated in a speech that he feels at home at Ibrox and that a longer stay is definitely possible:

“For me, this has been the ideal team. I’m thrilled to be here as a young player because I get to play these games, get experience, and have my teammates support me.

“This season has surprised me, but I’m a winner and I want to win. Here, I want to come out on top. That’s the reason I like this club. For the sake of this team and the supporters, who I believe deserve it, I aim to win everything.

“It’s not only up to me, but I’m enjoying myself here, and my family is too. The supporters are incredible; in my opinion, they are the finest.

Sima is someone Philippe Clement will want to keep, but if David Weir is going to help out his former team, Rangers will need to convince him very strongly.

In a piece for Talksport, Crooks offered some consolation to Rangers supporters expecting the 16-goal striker will rejoin the team for the upcoming campaign:

If the Glasgow giants and Brighton can work out a suitable deal, they would be eager to make Sima’s move permanent.

“In the summer of 2021, the Seagulls paid £6 million to recruit Sima from Slavia Prague in the Czech Republic.”

When Abdallah Sima returns to Brighton once his loan period ends, he will only have one year remaining on his contract.

This is the 22-year-old’s third short-term contract since 2021, and the only one that might be deemed successful.

Although it’s on the higher end of Rangers’ budget, Brighton’s £6 million would have been a fair price.

To put it in perspective, it is comparable to the £6 million contract for Danilo.

Rangers need to take as little risk as possible while investing money, and Sima has proven that he is capable of scoring goals.

Even after missing three months of the season, he still possesses more than Ross McCausland, Scott Wright, Rabbi Matondo, and Fabio Silva combined.
