Rumour: Celtic Keen on Bayer Leverkusen Goalkeeper

Journalist Pete O’Rourke claims that Celtic, Southampton, and PSV Eindhoven are interested

in acquiring Austrian custodian Patrick Pentz from Bayer Leverkusen.

Pentz has emerged as a promising prospect as a result of his strong Superliga results. He is

presently making an impression while on loan at Brondby in Denmark.
The 27-year-old custodian was signed on as a substitute at Brondby when Mads Hermansen,

their prior first-choice, left to join Leicester City in the Championship.

Celtic is in desperate need of a replacement custodian after Joe Hart announced his retirement

at the end of the current campaign.

Southampton, meantime, is desperate for a new number one after Gavin Bazunu suffered an

Achilles injury that would keep him out of action until 2025.

Even though Pentz has a contract with Leverkusen that expires in June 2025, the Bundesliga

champions may accept offers because he hasn’t played for them yet.

Celtic may be in a position to sign the Austrian international as the summer transfer window

draws near.
