Nottingham Forest issue fresh statement as EPL responds to social media statement, And set to be Ban from EPL.

As PL reacts to a social media remark, Nottingham Forest releases a second statement.

The discussion between Nottingham Forest and PGMOL is far from concluded as the relegation candidates have released another statement in reaction to the Premier League’s handling of the Midlands club’s allegations.

The issue surfaced on Sunday during Forest’s 2-0 loss to Everton at the stadium when three dubious penalty decisions went against the visiting team.

This led to the initial club statement, which said that Stuart Atwell, the VAR,

was a supporter of Luton Town and that the Garibaldis had told the PGMOL of this.Nottingham Forest drop into Premier League relegation zone after four-point deduction for PSR breach | Football News | Sky Sports

“The Premier League will also be looking into the matter in relation to the League’s Rules,

as it is never appropriate to improperly question the integrity of match officials.”

The PGMOL’s allegiance rule, however, clearly needs to be changed to take into consideration rivalries that are contextual rather than just local when determining the league rankings.

Although it should be, this is not currently covered by the standards.

There are concerns with the match officials’ reliance on recusing themselves if there are any contextual rivalries, as some have already done so.

“NFFC remains committed to its demand for increased openness regarding PGMOL appointments in order to further safeguard the game’s reputation, as stipulated in PGMOL’s current allegiance policy.”

Never before have supporters seen such a club’s rage over choices made on the field.

There have been suggestions for Mark Clattenburg, the referee analyst for the East Midlands team, to step down.
