After refuting rumours that he was being considered for the manager position at Bayern Munich,
Unai Emery today explains why he will not abandon Aston Villa, no matter how alluring the offers
may be.
The German powerhouses are reportedly interested in Emery, according to Bild, and Lothar
Matthaus, a former player for Bayern, has encouraged a summer transfer for the Villa manager.
Following Villa’s 3-1 victory over Bournemouth on Sunday, Emery refuted the allegations himself, saying, “I am focused here, 100 percent,” before the conversation was cut off.
And now, on social media, a Spanish football expert has confirmed that assertion of “100% focus.”
ESPN columnist, analyst, and podcast presenter Luis Miguel Echegaray advises considering all
factors before expressing interest in Emery’s services.
Is Unai Emery the true Premier League manager of the season?
“UE’s arrival at #AVFC was far more than just managerial,” he continues. He is in charge of
practically every aspect of football, including development and possible goals. His coaching
staff is hand-picked as is his team.
“Director of Operations Vidagany and President of Operations Monchi, along with his right
hand man, are specifically there for HIM.” Upon his arrival, Nassef Sawiris, the co-owner of
Villa, granted him access to the kingdom and collaborations with V Sports.
Real Unión, the Basque club in whom he has a significant share, is partnered with Villa on a joint
project including performance and analytics. Since his kid plays for the under-21 team,
it’s evident how strong the bond between Villa and UE is. It’s among Europe’s strongest.
Additionally, everything is functioning. As you can see, there are sporadic reports, but as UE
stated, AVFC is the main focus.
