John O’Shea, a former defender for Manchester United,

is probably going to continue leading the Republic of Ireland in their temporary capacity during the June international friendly.

After failing to lead the Irish to a spot at Euro 2024, Stephen Kenny’s contract was not renewed,

and the former United player was handed the responsibility in February.

In March, O’Shea managed a thrilling 0-0 draw in Dublin against Belgium and a close 0-1 loss to Switzerland at home.

Initially, it was believed that the former United defender would not be considered for the role of manager and that the Irish squad will name a new manager before the beginning of April.

The hiring process is still in progress, according to Marc Canham,

director of football for the Football Association of Ireland, who spoke with FAI TV.

“We’re aiming to play our first game against England in September in the UEFA Nations League,

which is really where we’re looking now.”

Canham continued to commend the efforts of United’s former utility player,

saying, “We anticipate having an interim head coach for the two June friendlies while we continue our search for a permanent head coach for September.” That should be John O’Shea, please.
