Unai Emery jumps into shock lead to become new manager of Champions League giants with Premier League rival also wanted

UNAI EMERY has emerged as the front runner to become Bayern Munich’s next manager, a report claims.

After returning to the Premier League in October 2022, the Aston Villa manager converted the team from relegation contenders to potential Champions League participants.

The 52-year-old Emery has enjoyed an incredible season at Villa Park, leading his team to fourth place in the standings and the Conference League semifinals.

The best teams in Europe, especially Bayern Munich, are taking notice of his rise in success since leaving Arsenal in November 2019 and joining Villarreal.

The Bundesliga’s biggest clubs are looking for a new manager to take Thomas Tuchel’s place.

According to the German daily Bild, Emery is the front-runner to replace Tuchel, and Max Eberal, the recently recruited director of sport, is a huge supporter of the Spaniard.

Lothar Matthaus, a great of Bayern and Germany, expressed his desire for the former PSG manager to be hired, saying on Sky Germany: “I would get Unai Emery from Aston Villa.”

“He’s performing brilliantly there. He has a great deal of experience, both domestically and abroad, and he has won titles with teams like Sevilla.

“His English is flawless. The players can all speak English, so I don’t see a language problem; he can then learn German.

“Emery would also be someone who would bring in a new wind, he would be a new face in the Bundesliga and That would fit well with Bayern Munich.”
