Kieran McKenna might quit Ipswich Town for Manchester United Job sources revealed
Although Kieran McKenna, the 37-year-old manager of Ipswich Town, has rapidly emerged as one of the EFL’s
top managers, Simon Grayson, a former manager of Leeds United and Sunderland, says he would be shocked if
the 37-year-old was offered the Manchester United position this summer.
Manchester United is no stranger to McKenna. Along with Michael Carrick, who currently manages
Middlesbrough, he was a member of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s coaching staff. However, he departed in 2021
following the Norwegian’s dismissal at Old Trafford.

But after leading Ipswich to promotion from League One the previous season, McKenna’s team quickly raised
their game to Championship levels, and now they are atop the standings after 43 games.
After losing their last three games, Ipswich is going through a slump.
They continue to lead Leeds in third place by two points and Leicester City in second place by one point.
Following his selection as the EFL awards’ Championship Manager of the Season last weekend, he was
honoured for his accomplishments.
There’s growing pressure on Erik ten Hag to remain at United, and we’ve come across stories that McKenna is
regarded highly as a manager at Old Trafford. Although he isn’t prepared for such a position at this time, he
should be someone they watch in the upcoming years.
And why is everyone trying so hard to get rid of Ten Hag?
Although Grayson is pleased with McKenna’s work, he believes that McKenna is still too young to assume
leadership of United.
“What Ipswich has accomplished is incredible, and it’s great that Kieran was named Manager of the Year,”
Grayson told the East Anglian Times.
It only illustrates what can occur when competent individuals are assembled in a group.
They have a positive attitude, are well-aware of their responsibilities and tasks within the group,
and appear to be having fun.
“It’s a fantastic accomplishment for what they’ve accomplished, but they don’t want to be remembered as the
squad that performed exceptionally well but fell short.
“Considering McKenna’s next move, it seems likely that the Manchester United position will come far too soon
in his managerial career, but it hasn’t hurt to have him marked as someone to watch.”
It’s a tremendous accomplishment that McKenna led Ipswich to the Championship and now that they’re in the
actual mix for the Premier League.
However, you don’t decline such an opportunity if it is presented to you.
“There will be many people with far more experience than him, so I would be surprised if he gets an offer for
that job, but you can never say never.”
