JUST IN : Hampden park set for Hearts vs Rangers

Hearts defeated Govan in the 1998 Scottish Cup final at Celtic Park, but they have never defeated Rangers at Hampden.

The last time Rangers won the Scottish Cup was in 2022, when they overcame Hearts in overtime. It was the 34th victory in the competition and signaled the end of a 13-year trophy drought.

Hearts’ leading scorer in the Scottish Cup this year, with three goals, is Kenneth Vargas, who scored in each of the previous three rounds of the cup.

This season, James Tavernier has scored in both of the Rangers’ trips to Hampden. Before scoring the game-winning goal against Aberdeen in the League Cup final, the Ibrox captain scored his first from the penalty spot as his team defeated Hearts in the semifinal.
