The Bavarian powerhouses are looking for a new manager to take Thomas Tuchel’s position

after the latter’s 12 year reign as German champion was relinquished last week to

undefeated Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga. It has already been stated that the former

Chelsea manager will depart the Allianz Arena at the end of the current campaign, despite leading Bayern into this year’s Champions League semi-finals, where they will play Real Madrid.

Zinedine Zidane is apparently not interested in returning to Bayern, and former manager

Julian Nagelsmann recently turned down the opportunity to rejoin the German national team

in exchange for a fresh two-year deal. According to the German tabloid Bild,

Emery is the most attractive prospect to replace Tuchel, and the recently hired sporting

Max Eberl is a major supporter.

Legendary coach of Bayern Munich and Germany Lothar Matthaus expressed his satisfaction

with the former PSG manager’s hiring, saying on Sky Germany: “I would get Unai Emery from

Aston Villa.” There, he’s doing a fantastic job. He has a great deal of experience,

both domestically and abroad, and he has won titles with teams like Sevilla.

“His English is flawless. The players can all speak English, so I don’t see a language problem;

he can then learn German. Additionally, Emery would infuse fresh energy into the Bundesliga

as a new face, which would align nicely with Bayern Munich.”
