West Ham chiefs tell Sullivan to sack Moyes with elite replacement possible

Figures have made their feelings known behind-the-scenes.

A few West Ham United executives have instructed chairman David Sullivan to fire manager David Moyes at the end of the current campaign because they think a “unbelievable” replacement can be found for the Scot.
With Moyes’ contract expiring, West Ham must make a difficult choice.

Considering all that Moyes has accomplished since taking over for a second spell as head coach in 2019–2020,

Four years ago, the 60-year-old returned to West Ham during their intense relegation struggle.

Moyes led them to safety before pulling off the unimaginable.

They’ve had three seasons in a row in Europe since then,

following some unexpectedly high league results. They won their first major trophy since the 1980s last year when they defeated Fiorentina in the Conference League final.

Moyes deserves a great deal of credit for his work overseeing West Ham’s most successful period in recent memory.

But over the past twelve months or so, things haven’t always been sunny.

The East Londoners’ league performance has been inconsistent at times;

they finished 14th in the previous season, and some fans are not fond of their team’s practical style of play.

The contract of the former Everton manager is about to expire on June 30, and West Ham will decide on Moyes’ formal future at the end of the current campaign. In their search for Moyes’ successor, West Ham has been linked to a number of intriguing players, including Graham Potter, Paulo Fonseca, and even Thomas Tuchel.
