Newcastle United fans can expect an exciting summer.

Some experts foresee a significant overhaul as Newcastle try to compete for

Champions League qualification as well as England’s domestic competitions.

However, it remains to be seen whether the club’s FFP limits will allow for a significant overhaul of Eddie Howe’s squad.

Howe has previously warned that the club will have a difficult summer as owners PIF seek to comply with the Premier League’s PSR rules.

As a result, players are being linked out.

Arsenal are apparently interested in star forward Alexander Isak,

yet Newcastle do not intend to transfer the great Sweden international.

The mood music around another significant figure in Bruno Guimaraes, however, differs.

While Newcastle have not given up hope of keeping him,

and Guimaraes has shown a wish to stay, Paris Saint-Germain are said to be intrigued.

The fact that Guimaraes is reported to have a release clause of roughly £100 million in his contract also weakens Newcastle’s hand.

Even if the Brazilian international isn’t actively seeking a move,

the prospect of a team being able to speak with him if they pay the fee is concerning.

Now, new information about Newcastle’s arrangement with Guimaraes has emerged.

Newcastle is understood to have a verbal deal with Bruno Guimaraes.

According to 90 Min, the club has reached a verbal deal with Guimaraes.

The terms of the deal state that he will be permitted to speak with Champions League-level clubs if they approach him,

and that offers below his release clause will be considered.

However, any offer for Newcastle to entertain that is less than his release clause would have to be in excess of £80 million.

Bruno Guimaraes might have just dropped a major hint about his Newcastle future.

Clearly, the idea of losing a player with a legitimate claim to be one of Newcastle’s finest ever midfielders is concerning.

But not all hope is lost.

Earlier this week, the Daily Telegraph reported that Guimaraes had recently purchased a £4 million home in the neighbourhood,

possibly indicating his plan to stay there.
