Kieran McKenna, the manager of Ipswich Town, has been connected to the Manchester United position.

Simon Grayson, a former manager of Sunderland and Leeds United, thinks he would be shocked if Manchester

United made manager Kieran McKenna an offer to join Ipswich Town this summer.

Last season, McKenna guided Ipswich to promotion from League One, and his team advanced to the

Championship with ease, spending the majority of this season in and around the spots designated for automatic

promotion.

The Tractor Boys are presently leading the table, one point ahead of second-place Leicester City and two points

ahead of third-place Leeds, despite having lost their last three games.

Ipswich has had a fantastic season, and McKenna was honored for it on Sunday night at the EFL Awards when

he was voted the Championship Manager of the Season.

The honor enhances McKenna’s standing as one of the most intriguing young managers in the industry.

His outstanding work at Portman Road has also drawn attention; earlier this month,

Football Insider reported that the 37-year-old was a candidate for the Man United position.

After a dismal season, United manager Erik ten Hag is under intense pressure,

and new minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe must decide whether to continue working with the Dutchman this

summer.

The Red Devils reportedly have a “concrete” interest in bringing McKenna back to the team as manager.

McKenna has experience working at the Old Trafford academy and as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s assistant.

Grayson: Kieran McKenna’s move to Man United would be too soon

Although Grayson gave McKenna credit for his work at Ipswich, he feels that McKenna is still too young to take

over at United.

“Unbelievable achievement, what Ipswich have done, and great that Kieran got the recognition of being

Manager of the Year,” added Grayson.

It only illustrates what can occur when competent individuals are assembled in a group.

They have a positive attitude, are well-aware of their responsibilities and tasks within the group,

and appear to be having fun.

“It’s a fantastic accomplishment for what they’ve accomplished, but they don’t want to be remembered as the

squad that performed exceptionally well but fell short.
