Breaking News: Ipswich Town decline the opportunity to sign £22,000 per week star on a free transfer

According to Football Scotland, Ipswich Town are not interested in signing Rangers midfielder John Lundstram,

whose contract expires this summer.

The news outlet wrote on their website (19 April) that the Championship club has no interest in the 30-year-old Ibrox star

and does not have him on their shortlist for the summer window.

claims on Friday (19 April) suggested that the two sides were close to negotiating terms on an agreement worth £2 million per year,

but Football Scotland said the claims are inaccurate and talks with Rangers over a new deal are ongoing.

The Rangers want to keep John Lundstram

It’s evident that Philippe Clement and Rangers want to keep Lundstram at Ibrox next season,

but they’ve put themselves in a difficult position yet again.

The club has allowed him to reach the final six weeks of his contract without reaching an agreement,

and they have no way of stopping anyone else from speaking to him or influencing his decision.

Ipswich would be a good fit for him because it would allow him to return to England

and he would undoubtedly benefit financially from playing in the Premier League.

But at Rangers, he will be contending for prizes on a regular basis and aiming for Europe,

A move to Turkey has also been discussed, but it is less likely to happen,
