Confirmed by the official SPFL website, Dundee acknowledged five distinct infractions of the
Dens Park pitch’s regulations, the most recent of which being the Rangers match.
The match was originally scheduled to take place on March 17th for Philippe Clement’s team
against Dundee. However, it was postponed, and on April 17th, it finally took place.
“SPFL Rules on pitch condition are an integral part of maintaining a fair league competition,
” stated an SPFL spokesperson.
Rangers left frustrated by Dundee saga at Dens Park
To the delight of Chris Sutton, Clement was so agitated by the ongoing uncertainty surrounding
this encounter that he felt it had negatively impacted the team’s preparations for the 3-2 loss
to Ross County at Dingwall.
The story had received a lot of attention, with players like Simon Jordan taking to the mic to
criticise Rangers for their involvement in it all and accuse them of not playing the match in th
e lead-up to the 3-3 Old Firm tie at Ibrox.
Not only that, but it would have dealt a serious damage to Rangers’ feelings and the current title
chase to finally get to play the match a month after it was originally scheduled to happen and limp
to a dismal 0-0 tie.
The most annoying thing will probably be the draw because Clement’s squad let Celtic stay
three points ahead of them at the top of the league, giving Brendan Rodgers’ club the opportunity
to win the championship.
Tom English made fun of Fabio Silva during the 0-0 tie, in other Rangers news.
