CONCLUDED: Celtic to face SPFL ‘Points’ sanctions over Rangers tickets.

Even if Rangers get SPFL punishments, CELTIC will not issue any tickets to the Parkhead Old Firm clash.

The Hoops publicly declined the offer of 700 Ibrox briefs according to SunSport website.

The Celtic board is emphatic that there shall be no away fans at the return and made this decision due to safety concerns.

As long as security issues were resolved, Parkhead chiefs were amenable to their supporters returning to Ibrox the next month.

It is reported that discussions of installing NETS surrounding the away section have taken place between the teams.

However, that wouldn’t be feasible in time for Celtic’s visit, and the ticket offer has been publicly turned down.

Rangers promised to tighten security in the away area, but authorities from the Hoops are not happy with the suggested adjustments.

There will be 50,000 home fans present for the September game, but the Gers DO want briefs for the game at Parkhead.

Citing regulation I27, Ibrox chiefs have already written to the SPFL requesting an allocation.

It stipulates that for every Premiership match, the home team must supply a “reasonable number” of away tickets.

Celtic will contend that they made their Ibrox choice for security concerns and that it is only right that Gers supporters aren’t given briefings as well.

As the dispute continues, the Rangers’ demand for Parkhead tickets will ultimately be decided by the SPFL board.

However, it is acknowledged that Celtic will not back down, not even in the face of a fine.
