Howe sack? PIF make ‘offer’ to ex-Man Utd, Chelsea manager as Newcastle ‘represent a plan B’

According to reports, the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund is interested in Jose Mourinho,

and their “plans uncertain” might mean that he ends up at Newcastle United.

Since taking over for Steve Bruce at Newcastle at the end of 2021, Howe has performed incredible work.

He prevented them from being relegated in 2021–2022, and the previous season they surprised everyone by finishing fourth in the Premier League.

This was a return to the Champions League, but Howe’s team would always be tested this year because Financial Fair Play rules prevented Newcastle from making significant roster changes this summer.

And Howe already had to cope with a serious injury situation prior to the international break,

so this is already showing to be the case. They are currently bottom of their Champions League group after losses to Borussia Dortmund,

It is important to remember that Howe will eventually have to decide whether to choose a top manager who can make Newcastle into a winning machine akin to Manchester City.

Mourinho has the support of many to duplicate the Chelsea magic at St. James’ Park and is destined to lead Newcastle United at some point.

The seasoned head coach has previous Premier League managerial experience with Chelsea,

Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur. Before the 2021–2022 season, AS Roma hired “The Special One” not long after he left Spurs.

with the conclusion of his first season with Roma, Mourinho assisted them in winning the Europa Conference League,

but his future is uncertain because his contract is set to expire in the summer.
