Jordan thinks there is still a lot of work to be done for Ipswich since there is a competitive race for automatic

promotion.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Simon Jordan cautioned Ipswich Town that failing to “do their job” might cause them to

stumble and be eliminated from the running for automatic promotion.

The Tractor Boys have been outstanding for the most part of the season, and their best performance to yet may have

occurred at Portman Road against Southampton, where Jeremy Sarmiento‘s late victory earlier this month increased

their hopes of promotion.

They haven’t won any of their next three games, though, having drawn at home against Watford and Middlesbrough

and lost away to their bitterest rivals, Norwich City.

Kieran McKenna‘s team would have been hoping to capture six points from six, and the last two home games would

have been viewed as a real opportunity.

They only managed to win two of the available points, but their current position atop the Championship table is

because to the mistakes made by Leeds United and Leicester City.

The warning from Simon Jordan to Ipswich Town

Despite the fact that the Whites had two home games they should have won last week, Leicester has gained zero

points and Leeds has only gained one.

With little separating the top three teams in the league right now, there is still hope for the West Yorkshire squad and

the Foxes.

“Ipswich have created a fantastic chance for themselves. Over the past few weeks, Leeds and Leicester have made

every effort to avoid receiving automatic promotions.”

Southampton, who are back in the running for an automatic promotion spot, is another team that Ipswich needs to

be cautious of.

It is imperative that Ipswich Town heeds Simon Jordan’s warning.

Leeds and Leicester still stand a great chance of finishing the season with a respectable number of points,

given the caliber of their respective squads.

Even still, the Foxes have a game coming up, and Enzo Maresca‘s team intends to make the most of it.

Jordan’s warning must therefore be taken seriously.

The Tractor Boys still have games against Hull City and Coventry City away from home before hosting Huddersfield

Town at Portman Road.

Their next two away games are extremely dangerous, but they should be aiming to win against the Terriers.

How well they get along will be interesting to watch.
