Rangers v Ross County – Team news confirmed, Sima starts, return at left-back

Gers make the long travel up the A9 to face Ross County today,

with Philippe Clement looking to put his foot down in the title battle.

The Gers manager now has a more talented squad,

but he will be disappointed to lose Mohamed Diomande to a thumb injury of all things.

Winning is all that matters at this point in the season,

and Rangers will be hoping that the Old Firm’s second half performance is replicated rather than the first;

this is who the manager has chosen to get the job done.

Rangers v Ross County: Team news confirmed

Dujon Sterling covered left back last weekend, but he was missed higher up the park; we could need someone like him  in midfield and on the right wing.

Borna Barisic only missed the derby due to illness earlier in the week,

and with Ridvan Yilmaz still not fully recovered, Rangers get much-needed balance.

John Lundstram’s engine room companion has changed as Ryan Jack and Diomande are no longer present.

Kieran Dowell impressed when he came off the bench last week and deserves a chance to start.

Despite their game-changing performances against Celtic, both Abdallah Sima and Rabbi Matondo will be facing the same question;

Sima appears to start, with Matondo coming on as a substitute.

Fabio Silva’s antics failed to please Philippe Clement, and Cyriel Dessers was unfortunate not to score in his most recent appearance.

Both of them will be expected to contribute in the coming weeks.

Rangers Starting XI

This is your starting XI for Rangers vs Dundee:

Rangers desperately need to start picking up points and winning games again after Celtic defeated St Mirren the day before.

The Scottish Cup returns next week, and if we can make it two out of two,

we will be top of the league when the post-split fixtures begin on the other side.

Mentality, intent, and the persistence we showed in the second half at Ibrox will be a solid start.
