According to Yasin Patel, a sports solicitor at Church Court Chambers, the Premier League will be ready to face any legal issues this summer.

According to estimates, the Toffees may lose “hundreds of millions” if they are demoted this season as a result of the point penalty.

“The Premier League has their legal team lined up for legal battles,

whether it be from Luton, Brentford, Everton, or Leicester,” Patel stated in an interview with the I on April 10.

“The Premier League is merely a company, and Everton, like any other business,

has the right to sue if they believe the Premier League has harmed them.”

“Losing Premier League status entails hundreds of millions of dollars in losses, player departures, television rights, etc.”

Everton might pull the Premier League into a legal war.

The Goodison Park club may sue the Premier League if they are demoted this season due to the injustice and inconsistency with which their point deductions were handled.

The Premier League has been heavily criticized for its decision-making, particularly over the PSR breaches,

therefore there has been outrage from all sides this season, including politicians, analysts, and supporters.

It is ironic and tragic that Everton’s finances may be the source of their predicament,

as relegation would be a frightening prospect for them considering the costs of the new stadium and the amount owed to creditors.

Given that the club’s treatment differs from that of other clubs and has continually been seen as unjust,

it should be able to legally sue the Premier League if it is relegated.
