Rangers v Dundee farce sees Talksport reveal twist

The impact from Rangers’ postponed game against Dundee continues, as the second attempt was rescheduled until next week.

Five games postponed is unacceptable, and it is no surprise that the Dens Park outfit is facing disciplinary punishment,

with Gers manager Philippe Clement not shy of airing his fury.

However, according to Jim White of Talksport, Rangers and Dundee have also contributed to the problem.

Rangers against Dundee farce: Talksport reveals twist

The fundamental issue is due to the deterioration of Dundee’s pitch.

Rangers, according to White, could have played the rescheduled game against Dundee last week,

a few days before the crucial Old Firm clash.

Now, no other sources have made this allegation, and White has not indicated where he obtained this information.

Second, why should Rangers accept that condition if they don’t have to?

It is not Rangers’ responsibility to ensure Dundee’s pitch is up to snuff.

The narrative developed when a caller to the Jim White and Simon Jordan show called in and corrected the contentious pair.

In reaction to Jordan criticizing Rangers for being hypocrites and grand standing,

she stated that the game couldn’t be played last week due of Sky Sports.

The game was scheduled to be broadcast on television, and there was already a full fixture list at night.

Dundee requested that the game be played at 3pm, but Sky Sports declined.

On the surface, it appears that White and Jordan have dropped this information in order to stir up controversy,

similar to Chris Sutton’s remark on X that the contingency is to play the game at Ibrox.

It would not be the first time the couple has been economical with the truth or twisted it to suit an entertaining goal.

Jordan’s assertion that Rangers did not allow Celtic fans into Ibrox was similarly incorrect,

as was his interpretation of the cinch/Douglas Park debate.

Would the former Crystal Palace owner have reacted differently if a deal in which he expressed concerns damaged his personal interests?

I do not think so.

Rangers maintain status quo with delayed game despite cup inconvenience.

Delaying the game for another week helps Philippe Clement to some amount,

despite his frustration with not knowing what his training routine will be.

Players in the squad, such as Abdallah Sima and Rabbi Matondo,

will have an extra week of training in their legs and should be nearing full fitness.

However, Rangers will now have less time to prepare for a Scottish Cup semi-final against Hearts at Hampden Park next weekend.

To be honest, every game from now until the end of the season is a cup final,

therefore it shouldn’t matter when Rangers face Dundee.

What matters is that we win.
