POINTS DEDUCTION: Ipswich town to face 10 points deduction after Norwich ticket claims – Investigations in progress,

Ipswich Town have reassured supporters following complaints over ticketing for the East Anglian derby.

There were accusations on social media over the weekend following Town’s defeat to Norwich City that a big part of the tickets for the game at Carrow Road had been distributed to workers – but we understand those claims to be much exaggerated.

It was stated that 20% of the allocation, or approximately 400 tickets, had been offered to personnel.

Players received a ‘restricted allocation’ of tickets as usual, with tougher restrictions around the derby match.

According to reports, the club is ‘disappointed’ with the opposing claims.

While many people turned to social media to protest, we understand the club received only a few complaints

– less than ten – and responded to each one directly.

It is customary for the club to distribute a number of tickets to players and personnel for away games.

A representative for the club said: “Whilst we won’t get every decision right,

we will continue to review our processes in all areas of the club and make improvements where necessary.”

2,001 Town fans were at Carrow Road on Saturday for the East Anglian derby, which Norwich won 1-0.
