Philippe Clement takes leaf out of Walter Smith’s book by copying C. Ronaldo trick with Rangers star

Standard setter Philippe Clement made sure that all of the players knew what was expected of them as soon as he joined the Rangers.

The manager of the Gers keeps things straightforward in his approach, but he wants every player to believe that they can succeed at Ibrox.

Fabio Silva, an on-loan forward, is one guy who is gradually acclimating to life as a Rangers player. Philippe Clement is employing a Walter Smith method to bring Silva up to the same comprehension level as the venerable Cristiano Ronaldo.

Walter would have been the ideal temporary right-hand man for Sir Alex Ferguson, who knew he could rely on him.

He had no idea that one of the greatest players in history would be so profoundly impacted by the Rangers mythology.

Darren Fletcher, was a player at the time and remembers how Smith handled the

now I’m beginning to contribute in games.'”

“That marked the start of Ronaldo’s transformation.”

Fabio Silva is only on loan at Rangers, but Philippe Clement still looks out for his best interests,

and it’s this trait that seems to bind him so closely to the legendary Walter Smith.
