Breaking News: Rangers agreed terms to sign Standard Liege goalkeeper in a deal worth £3.4m including bonuses

According to Sudinfo, Rangers are interested in signing Standard Liege goalkeeper Arnaud Bodart this summer for a

contract for £3.4 million including bonuses.

The Belgian news source claims on their website (April 10) that the Light Blues are “very interested” in the 26-year-

old and may soon make an official offer to solidify their interest.

Bodart will have just one-year remaining on his contract this summer and would be open to a move to Glasgow, but

Brugge are still hopeful of earning at least €4m (£3.4m) from his transfer.

Rangers must spend their money wisely this summer

Philippe Clement has a great opportunity to truly have an impact on the team as the summer transfer window approaches.

Robby McCrorie is almost certain to go after sliding behind Jack Butland in the pecking order this season and

playing sparingly under Clement, and Jon McLaughlin’s contract is up.

That leaves the door open for a new goalkeeper to join the ranks and add competition to the squad, but £3.4m is a lot of money for a back-up option.

A number of players are expected to depart the team, thus it is crucial to add quality players to the outfield positions who can play the style the manager desires.

It will be necessary to bring in a new goalkeeper, although there will undoubtedly be better choices to play Butland’s

backup next season if no big sales are made to raise the money.
