Newcastle may have already found ‘giant’ FFP solution that could save millions
Newcastle United needs to add a top-notch center back this summer,
but Dan Burn still has the ability to save Eddie Howe millions during a transfer season where the Magpies will need to be astute in order to bolster a number of positions.

Burn will be eager to show that he still has a lot to contribute at center back in the closing weeks of the season and beyond as Newcastle looks to add at least one top center back this summer.

Burn would be the first to acknowledge that he hasn’t quite reached the incredible heights of the previous season—even before he had to rush back to support
his team after fracturing his back—but the Geordie hasn’t given up.
Burn has appeared at ease at center back after facing tough times in the past against quick players like Anthony Elanga, Chiedozie Ogbene, and Antoine Semenyo in recent months.

Burn has trained and played as a left-back for the past eighteen months, so it’s not surprising that he has reverted to that position even though this is his natural environment.
Consider Burn’s debut game,
which he will start on Tuesday night against Everton at center defense.
Burn led Newcastle in both the quantity of aerial duels won (ten) and the quantity of clearances made (six). With a pass completion percentage of 91.2 percent,
the Geordie was also by far the best of Newcastle’s starting lineup.
It’s also important to note that just 18 of these throws were completed,
meaning they were between five and 15 yards.
The fact that only playmaker Bruno Guimaraes had more touches (81) and made more tackles (four) than Burn may surprise you.
