The Portuguese forward was criticized harshly by the media and fans as he repeatedly went down holding his body parts and then got back up.

The Hoops led 2-0 thanks to goals from Daizen Maeda and Matt O’Riley, leaving Philippe Clement’s team stunned.

James Tavernier and Abdallah Sima tied the score in a much better second half, and in a thrilling conclusion, Adam

Idah and Rabbi Matando cancelled each other out.

On Sunday, April 7, at 12:10 p.m., English made the following live statement on BBC Radio Scotland: “Silva has been

embarrassing at times.” That response from Alistair Johnston to the block…

“It was dreadful. John Beaton has had a very good half – it was a yellow card. But the reaction to the foul is just

laughable. It’s like he’s been electrocuted. Imagine the Celtic players looking at that. Awful.”

Fabio Silva embarrasses himself during Rangers v Celtic

With four goals in 15 appearances since joining Ibrox on loan from Wolves during the winter transfer window, Silva

has grown to be a well-liked figure.

The 21-year-old, who fell following a tackle and smacked the ground, won’t want to relive that moment, though.

He did it multiple times during the first half, getting straight back up after rolling around on the floor, only to be

greeted by frustration from his own fans at Ibrox.

For the first forty-five minutes, the young player was essentially invisible, and many suggested that at halftime,

Clement should swap him out for a far more impactful winger.

With just five minutes of the half remaining, Johnston was booked after blocking Silva’s run behind, once again

leaving him punching the floor in agony before quickly getting back to his feet.

The 21-year-old did win a penalty in the second half, which Tavernier tucked away in style, winning some respect back from the Ibrox faithful.

Silva did not put on his best performance while wearing a Rangers jersey, and following his antics against Celtic,

Clement will probably have a conversation with his young attacker.

In other Rangers news, a recent incident in Scotland has raised police concerns ahead of the Celtic match.
