Rangers preparing for defining Celtic clash

In addition to the major games, there is Sunday’s Old Firm derby between the Hoops and the Gers. The Scottish

Premiership title match might be decided by the outcome of this weekend’s encounter at Ibrox, with a win by either

team guaranteeing them the right to be declared champions at the end of the campaign.

Rangers presently trail Celtic by one point, but they still have one game remaining against them and know that a win

on Sunday would give them a five-point lead over their opponents if they also win the other match.

Prior to the exciting match, the Gers are worried about injuries because of the absence of players like Danilo, Kieran

Dowerll, and Todd Cantwell, as well as uncertainties about Ross McCausland, Abdallah Sima, and Dujon Sterling.

Rangers dealt pre-Celtic injury blow

It is a setback that McCausland, Sima, and Sterling won’t be returning to start for Rangers this weekend, according

to John McGarry of The Scottish Daily Mail [via Ibrox News].

They could still get minutes against Celtic, which is at least encouraging considering that they were just back in the

lineup against Hibernian at home the previous Saturday. The most playing time was for Sterling, who entered the

game in the 58th minute at Ibrox. Sima and McCausland,

who played for 10 and 23 minutes, respectively, were also encouraging.

In truth, starting any of the three would feel like a huge risk by Clement, considering Sunday’s clash could easily be

the most pressurised and intense of the campaign so far. Rangers will need every single player at the top of the game,

so starting only fully fit individuals makes complete sense.

With his ability to win games in the closing third, Sima is the player who has the best chance of returning to the field

against the Hoops out of the three. In addition to scoring three goals in six Europa League games, he has tallied ten

goals in the fifteen league games he has started this season.

Although McCausland is still a young player and has not played in games of this caliber, he has previously

demonstrated his abilities and has a fearlessness that might make him

a valuable addition to the starting lineup on Sunday.
