News Report:£1m star to step up after new Kieffer Moore news or risk contract deal

The news that Kieffer Moore is unlikely to play in this weekend’s East Anglian Derby against Norwich City will undoubtedly come as a shock to Ipswich Town supporters, but the Welsh international’s absence may open the door for another striker to step in and take his place.

After joining Portman Road on loan from AFC Bournemouth in January, Moore has made 12 appearances and scored six goals. However, a back ailment took Moore off the field during the first half of Easter Monday’s 3-2 home victory over Southampton.

The Iraqi international joined the Tractor Boys in January for an alleged seven-figure price from AFC Wimbledon, but he has had to settle for a supporting role behind players like Moore and Conor Chaplin as they aim for automatic promotion from the Championship.

After making his final game for the Dons on New Year’s Day, Al-Hamadi was scoring goals for fun in League Two. At the end of the January transfer window, he went to Suffolk for a little over £1 million.
