Everton face devastating third points deduction breach as new details emerge
Keith Wyness, the former head of Everton, has stated that the team could lose points due to a third PSR violation
after revealing £89 million in deficits in their most recent financial statements.
The 66-year-old, who ran a football consultancy advising elite clubs after serving as CEO at Goodison Park from
2004 to 2009, said he was surprised by the losses at Goodison Park in an interview with Football Insider’s Inside
Track podcast.

On Sunday, March 31, Everton released its 2022–2023 financial statements, which showed a total turnover of £172.2
million.
The Merseyside club also declared a statutory loss of £89.1 million, bringing their losses from 2020–21 and 2021/22
to a total of £45 million and £121 million.
Massive Everton losses suggest a third PSR violation is probably coming.
Wyness Everton received a six-point reduction for their first PSR violation and is currently undergoing a second
hearing, which could result in more sanctions this season.
“When the accounts dropped, it certainly managed to ruin my Easter weekend,”
Wyness said to Football Insider’s Inside Track.
“It was a lot more than I was expecting to see.”
Nevertheless, no specific violation will take into account the £89 million in losses.
It will need to be examined in terms of any allowances, and since the stadium is still under construction,
I’m sure that a sizable portion of the total will need to be subtracted.
But there’s a chance there will be further breaches.
