During most of the 2023 NFL regular season, Dallas Cowboys star quarterback Dak Prescott was a serious candidate for NFL MVP, playing some of the finest football of his career while capitalizing on his strong offense.

Finally, Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens earned the regular-season trophy for the second time in his career, and deservedly so, as he was without a doubt the best quarterback throughout the 2023 season.

Prescott did, however, have a productive season, throwing for a league-high 36 touchdowns and 410 completions while leading the Cowboys to a 12-5 record, which was good enough to hold off the competition in the NFC East to win the division title and secure their spot in the NFL playoffs.

With Prescott coming off such a good season, at least in the regular season, his brother Tad Prescott believes that the following season will be worse because he set the bar high with his performance in 2023, according to the I AM ATHLETE podcast.

“Worse,” Tad Prescott replied. “In order for him to be better, he’s an MVP, he’s a First-Team All-Pro, and he’s a Super Bowl champion.”

With Dak Prescott setting the bar so high, Tad Prescott is correct that he will most likely have a worse season in 2024 because he will need to achieve a number of benchmarks to be regarded better than last year.

However, such a performance next season is not impossible, as the Cowboys continue to have a very talented team and are projected to be a force to be reckoned with in the NFC.
