After missing the previous four games due to injury, manager Brendan Rodgers revealed that his captain had a “very good chance” of being fit for the derby.

Meanwhile, John Kennedy revealed that the Celtic midfielder will resume training this week in preparation for the team’s trip across Glasgow.

Kennedy was hoping for an extra lift in the Parkhead dressing room ahead of the crucial Scottish Premiership title match, especially with Reo Hatate back.

Sutton, though, has advocated for a more cautious strategy, stating that if one of the Old Firm teams can win all three points,

they will be prepared to take a big step toward raising the trophy in May. He says Rodgers shouldn’t even think about signing McGregor if he isn’t playing at his best.

“It comes down to Callum McGregor’s fitness level,” he said to Sky Sports. How much he does this week is crucial since it won’t be the same as training if he has been riding a bike in a gym for five or six weeks.

“Brendan Rodgers must decide, and with McGregor in the lineup, Celtic is a better team. But he can’t play if he’s not fit, or if he’s only somewhat fit.

“But with Reo Hatate back and him scoring against Livingston, along with Cameron Carter-Vickers, it’s a big boost for Celtic.”
