With Joe Hart set to retire from professional football in the summer, Celtic will need to find a new goalkeeper.

The 36-year-old had a stellar career at the highest level and was regarded as one of the greatest players in the world in the early 2010s for his position.

Hart has played 144 games for Celtic at Parkhead, giving up 135 goals and maintaining 60 clean sheets [Transfermarkt].

In addition, he has added five winners medals to his vast collection.

Before the 2023–24 season ends, he hopes to add seven more to it.

The Bhoys lead Rangers by one point with eight league games left before this weekend’s pivotal Glasgow Derby at Ibrox.

In the similar vein, if we can defeat Aberdeen in the semi-final and then defeat the winner of Heart of Midlothian vs. Rangers the next day, Brendan Rodgers might continue his perfect Scottish Cup record.

In light of his stellar performances this season, Hart will be much missed at Parkhead;

playing his part in a domestic double would be a fitting send-off.

Even yet, it’s probably time for both of them to pursue new endeavors,

albeit come May the former England international will be itching to hold onto some silverware.

Joe Hart opens up on emotional final months at Celtic and future

While it is always sad when one of the greatest characters in the game decides to end their career,

Hart has stated he is eager to support Celtic as a fan, saying his connection to the Scottish Premiership winners is unbreakable.

The legendary player from Manchester City has also talked about how this will be his final trip to Ibrox as a player and how excited he is about the match even if no away supporters are permitted inside to support the Bhoys.

“I genuinely look forward to supporting this club forever; it’s a part of me,” he said in response to a question from The Herald.

This is my way of breaking up with a guy who won’t talk to me about what’s coming ahead, but I hope to support football in the future.

And among the teams I’ll support is this one.

“My first reaction is that it means nothing to me, so I’m going to remove myself from this situation (away allocation restoration).”

But it would be fantastic if I could remove the guy I’ll be during that time.

There will be a huge buzz. It was exciting when I played in a 50/50 split here at Hampden. It’s emotional; show both your good and terrible sides.

We’ve had a lot of fans since I’ve been here—I believe 700–750 in total—but in the beginning of the season,

it was weird to win away and have no one to express your gratitude to.

“It’ll be nice, it’ll be a great spectacle, because even though we played without supporters that day,

you still feel it in the build-up, to have your support and your club behind you.”

“This match is highly respected all over the world, and in order to maintain that respect,

you need away supporters there. I could be one of those few thousand (in the future), you never know.

Joe Hart has been a brilliant servant for Celtic

Hart joined Celtic three years ago, providing steady support and guidance at a time when we desperately needed it following a catastrophic 2020–21 season.

History will be kind to the seasoned stopper, who has embraced every facet of life at Parkhead and won the admiration of the larger community,

regardless of what transpires this season.

Even so, Hart is a proven winner and will stop at nothing to bring honors to Glasgow.

Hopefully, he can have his happily ever after before riding off into the sunset this summer.
