£9.5m legal battle against Ranger for breach of contract amidst Celtic vs Rangers.

Elite Sportswear filed a £9.5 million lawsuit against Rangers in November of last year, and the legal action is still pending.

In 2020, the Scottish Premiership team switched from Hummel to Castore as their kit manufacturer.

Rangers allegedly broke a contract allowing them to supply kits after signing with Castore,

according to Elite’s legal team.

The Ibrox club disclosed that they had not set aside funds for the legal matter in their most recent finances.

It will be intriguing to watch how things turn out, but Rangers believe the claim was unlikely to succeed.

Each season, the five-year kit deal with Castore was valued at £4 million.

A proposal to find out how many kits Rangers had sold since moving to Castore was won by

Elite just before the company entered administration last year.

Elite has always demanded £9.5 million in compensation, but they have also asked for more details about the sales data.

It would assist their legal team in gathering evidence and calculating the appropriate amount of compensation to demand.

In the upcoming weeks and months, a number of proceedings at the Court of Session in Edinburgh are anticipated.

Although Elite will be prepared to battle to the end, Rangers will fancy their prospects of winning the case.

The Scottish Cup semi-final takes place on Sunday,

and the Gers, who have had difficulty keeping up with Celtic this season, will be hoping to defeat their local rivals.
