The black cats co-owner Kyril Louis-Dreyfus is reportedly “in talks” with an American financial organization about a £20 million loan.

Alan Nixon, a Sun newspaper journalist, reported that Sunderland’s French billionaire majority owner is searching for “extra funds”.

Nixon does, however, say that not all of the money is set aside for immediate use in the club.

Kyril Louis-Dreyfus’ net worth is estimated to be over £2 billion, making him the 17th richest owner in the Premier League if Sunderland are promoted from the Championship, which is improbable this season.

The Louis-Dreyfus family created the Louis-Dreyfus group in 1851, and the company has been active in agricultural,

food processing, international shipping, and finance over time.

According to Fortune, the company produced more than $1 billion in profit last fiscal year,

despite the fact that Kyril Louis-Dreyfus does not have full control of it. The organization employs more than 22,000 individuals.

His father, Robert, was also the CEO of Adidas and Saatchi & Saachi and a former owner of Olympique de Marseille before his death in 2009. Margarita Louis-Dreyfus, Kyril’s mother, has a current net worth of £2.7 billion, according to Forbes.

Strong Paul Heckingbottom links surface.

Nixon also claims that former Sunderland player and Sheffield United manager Paul Heckingbottom is now top of Sunderland’s wanted list.

Sunderland are said to be investigating a broad list of possibilities,

including Sheffield Wednesday manager Danny Rohl and Reims manager Will Still.

However, Nixon claims that Heckingbottom meets several of the Black Cats’ requirements,

such as fostering young players and collaborating with existing Academy of Light staff.

Heckingbottom has been out of work since leaving Sheffield United earlier this season, after leading the Blades to promotion from the Championship the previous season.

According to Nixon, the Englishman has missed out on some projects in recent months.

Sunderland are now led by interim head coach Mike Dodds, who is anticipated to continue at the club once a new manager is chosen.
