The Aberdeen and Motherwell midfielders have both been linked to Rangers moves
Derek Ferguson would prefer that this summer, Rangers seek a deal to capture Lennon Miller of Motherwell rather
than Aberdeen’s Connor Barron.
Blues have been suggested as possible destinations for both young players.
The former Ibrox midfielder Ferguson acknowledges that both of the young players in his former position are gifted,
but he believes that Miller, a teenager from Fir Park, has the advantage over Barron, who is about to leave Pittodrie.
Miller is one of the best players in Scottish football.
Furthermore, he believes that it is not impossible for the Light Blues to come to a mutually agreeable agreement.
In an exclusive interview with Ibrox News, Ferguson said, “[Barron] is a good player
without a doubt, just like Lennon Miller was.”
Pursuing a comparative analysis of the two Simply put, I believe that Lennon is a more well-rounded player and that
Connor is rather lacking on defense. However, this is the reason you play as a team since your teammates can fill in
for you in specific areas.
“Hey, there’s no denying that these two little boys are good. Any day of the week, if I had to choose between the two, I
would choose Lennon Miller. I find so much to be admirable about him.
“You’ve got more of a chance with Lennon. With Motherwell a deal could be struck which would be good for Motherwell and good for Rangers.
Time for Rangers to make a move for Fir Park star?
Many of the signings have emerged to become key players under the Belgian, but even with a potential domestic
treble on the cards with the current playing staff, the manager is sure to want to make more changes. Philippe
Clement’s plans for the summer transfer window are likely to be extensive after taking over midseason and having to
revive an uneven squad that appeared to have been left weaker for Michael Beale’s summer recruitment.
A big-name striker was expected during the window that ended with Mohamed Diomande’s high-profile arrival in
January, though a deal for Lawrence Shankland was still possible.
While it looks like John Lundstram will stay, Jack’s impending departure will still create a void. Miller might be
worth leaving to continue developing at Motherwell, however a deal might yet see him loaned back to Fir Park.
A star Ibrox guy is “keen” to accept the offer after getting a huge approach, according to recent Rangers news.
