Hoops Review: Celtic engine room midfielder will return against Rangers in Old firm derby – Assistant Manager declared

John Kennedy has spoken about Callum McGregor’s return, with the Scottish midfielder now sidelined due to injury.

With McGregor rumoured to return for next Sunday’s Glasgow derby, Kennedy provided an intriguing response, holding his cards close to his chest and not disclosing any facts to Rangers.

Kennedy stated: [BBC Sportsound] “Will Callum be back next week? Hopefully, thankfully.

We’ll see how he does this week; he hasn’t been taught yet, but he’s progressing,

so we’ll take each day as it comes and see what happens.”

McGregor will be missed if he does not play against Rangers, given his huge effect in the previous game in December.

Celtic appear to be managing the Hoops captain’s condition, but if it worsens,

it could result in additional setbacks before the conclusion of the season.

With the title fight expected to go down to the wire, the sooner McGregor returns, the closer Celtic will be to their best.
