According to two former referees, Rangers need to be docked a point for the ugly occurrences that spoiled the derby

encounter against Celtic.

The start of the second half was delayed when Joe Hart reported to Willie Collum and the officials that his goal

mouth was covered in shards.

Following the final whistle, it was revealed that a bottle had struck a Celtic staffer during the game.

Police Scotland have launched an investigation into the incident, and Rangers have stated they are looking through

stadium security footage to try and find the culprits.

Des Roache and Steve Conroy, two former whistleblowers, have asked the SFA to step in.

The two think that tougher stances from the governing body are the only way to get supporters to “pay attention”

to disciplinary action.

Conroy said, “Fans, in particular, don’t give a damn if the club gets fined,” on the podcast Get Involved Referee.

It makes no difference to them.

“Maybe if their team falls by three, five, ten, and ultimately twenty points, they will take notice.

Nothing more seems to be occurring, therefore perhaps it is time for the clubs to be held accountable for it.

In favor of the deduction request, Roache stated, “I think they’ve (Rangers) have to hold their hands up and say

they’re responsible for what goes on in their house.”

“Hopefully, the backers

“It’s not acceptable, and I think the clubs have an obligation to take reasonable precautions to guarantee the security

of everyone within their stadium.

“In my view, I would accept the deduction of points.

This is the point where treating it as a serious issue will hurt the team and its supporters.
