Newcastle confirm 2-times UEFA champions League winner as new head coach as Howe set to leave at the end of the season

The media has speculated extensively regarding Eddie Howe’s job.

The Magpies have struggled to reproduce their success from previous season,

when they qualified for the Champions League and advanced to the Carabao Cup final.

Newcastle has battled with injuries this season, and their performance has been much below standard.

Naturally, in such a situation, ex-players and fans will criticize the manager’s participation in the media.

Newcastle manager is under intense scrutiny.

Howe is one of several Premier League managers, including Mauricio Pochettino and Erik ten Hag,

who have been severely critiqued and discussed for the club’s dismal performance this season.

Despite having the support of PIF, various managers have been associated with the St. James’ Park job.

Adebayo Akinfenwa has endorsed Jose Mourinho as the new manager if the PIF decides it’s time to bring in a new face, he told talkSPORT.

The former striker believes Newcastle would “suit” the famed coach more than positions in Liverpool or England.

“I think that’s a better fit (than England),” Akinfenwa stated.

“When people talk about Eddie Howe, and until he chooses to go to England, I believe it is unfair.

I believe he has done an exceptional job at Newcastle. I understand that it has been difficult,

but that is what comes with having expectations.

“But I think Mourinho would suit Newcastle better.”

Since being fired by Roma in January, Mourinho has been a free agent, eager to return to the center of things as quickly as possible.

Howe deserves another opportunity at Newcastle.

However, it appears like firing Howe would be harsh given the club’s major injury crisis, which has ruined their season.

He has previously demonstrated his ability to take the club to the next level,

and he deserves another chance next season based on his remarkable performance.

But, as they say, it’s a results-driven profession,

and Howe will need to turn things around soon rather than later to quell rumors about his future.
