West Ham of the Premier League is rumored to be a fan of the Danish international as well. The 23-year-old,

according to former Hammer McAvennie, is unable to keep up with the division’s speed.

“If I’m being honest, he’s not been great since that [Atletico Madrid] bid came in,” he said to Football Insider.

“I was a midfield player for four years,

and I firmly think that players shouldn’t play with their backs to the goal. That

“McAvennie feels that O’Riley’s qualities would work better in another division and suggested that Serie A might be a

better fit. I like O’Riley and I think he has the world at his feet. He’s come up here and done brilliantly and he’s a

wonderful talent. But I don’t know if he’ll move somewhere bigger than Celtic. I don’t know if he could do it in the

English Premier League because of the pace.

I don’t know if Matt has that pace even if he has that ability.

“Could he go abroad?,” he concluded. Indeed, without a doubt. Because Serie A is more about strategy than velocity,

he could compete on par.

After playing Livingston, Celtic will play a crucial title decider away to archrivals Rangers. In order to get on the
