Injury issues seem to have dogged every Rangers manager in recent memory, and Philippe Clement is no different

from those who came before him.

The Gers manager inherited a treatment room filled with as many bodies as the training ground had players

participating in sessions when he took over in the hot seat at Ibrox.

Aside from those with poor medical histories most of the current Rangers squad that have been sidelined have been

unlucky even if Philippe Clement is intent on fixing the long-term problem.

Romeo Lavia injury is nothing compared to Rangers Daniel Prodan

When it comes to bad luck, Romeo Lavia has experienced more hardship than Danilo.

After joining Chelsea from Southampton, the 20-year-old has played just 32 minutes. He won’t be back this season.

Mauricio Pochettino finds it difficult to accept that it cost an estimated £58 million.

Even though Rangers may not have spent as much as that, £2.2 million was a significant sum of money in 1998,

particularly for a defender.

Daniel Prodan’s story is a sad one; he died at the young age of 44.

Recognized as one of Europe’s most skilled center halves, he played a crucial role in the 1990s Romanian team’s triumph.

When Prodan was at the top of his game, it appeared like a smart move for Rangers, who were trying to replace the

legendary Richard Gough.

There was one major problem though.

Prodan had been having issues with a knee injury but Atletico Madrid didn’t reveal the full extent of the damage, to

compound the farce, Rangers didn’t carry out a medical.

A decision that ultimately cost them £2.2m and three years worth of wages.

Without once stepping onto the pitch wearing a Rangers strip.

Prodan was never able to get his problems resolved and barely played in his last five years as a professional.

The same thing would happen if John Stones were signed today and allowed to run around Auchenhowie, but we

would never get to watch him play or leave Ibrox.

Lavia has six years left on his contract, so Chelsea needs to make sure they give him the time he deserves this time.

There’s no need to rush.

Although he may have played longer than thirty-two minutes, Danilo is in a similar circumstance.

At the young age of 24, he has the potential to become a hero for the Rangers.
