Transfer: Rangers complete first summer deal after official announcement
According to reports, Trabzonspor is considering a double Rangers raid this summer,
with John Lundstram allegedly being targeted.
The Scouser’s contract expires at the end of the current campaign,
although he has indicated he would be willing to stay at Ibrox after significantly contributing to the team’s recovery under Philippe Clement.
The Belgian acknowledged that the team had begun contract negotiations with Lundstram at the close of the previous year, but as of right now,
no deal has been made to keep him at Govan past the conclusion of the current campaign.
Trabzonspor has reportedly made a deal over a possible switch, according to recent sources from Turkey.
In preparation for the upcoming season,
the Super Lig team hopes to persuade Lundstram that relocating to Turkey would be advantageous for them.
Borna Barisic, a colleague of the Gers who also has a summer contract expiring, has also been courted by them.
He has lost his starting left back position to Ridvan Yilmaz,
who, ironically, had trouble making an impression after moving for £5 million in 2022 to leave Trabzonspor’s domestic rival Besiktas.
Barisic, who joined the Light Blues in 2018,
is weighing his options after taking over the role.
It is believed that the Trabzonspor offer is significant.
