With supporters backing them to ensure they are holding their own among the lists top 20 for gate revenue,

which is currently led by Barcelona, the document, which examines how Europe’s elite teams are making their

income and ranks them in various areas of revenue growth, makes positive reading for both Glasgow giants.

It should come as no surprise that top European teams like Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain,

as well as English Premier League heavyweights Manchester City, Liverpool, and Manchester United, are near the top in several important categories.

Celtic, on the other hand, is just one position behind at 19 after earning £40 million (€47 million) in gate receipts.

Rangers had previously been in 13th, Celtic in 16th, but the three Serie A teams AC Milan, Inter Milan, and Juventus all saw notable increases in their revenue from gate receipts the previous year.

According to the research, Celtic’s average ticket revenue is €33, while Rangers’ is €36.50. PSG leads the ranking list this time around with an average revenue per fan of €140.20.

“Seven clubs reported gate revenues of more than €100m in 2023,” according to a UEFA report. “Liverpool FC is set to rejoin this group in 2024 following their stadium expansion.

” Just four teams reported a fall in gate receipts in 2023, as the top 20 clubs by gate income had an incredibly healthy

32% growth in gate receipts. Spanish and Italian clubs saw the biggest absolute gains in gate income.”

A second statement from UEFA stated: “This list of the top 20 clubs features many of the usual suspects,

but the large supporter bases of Olympique de Marseille, Rangers FC, Celtic FC and AFC Ajax have propelled those clubs into the list.”

Celtic, meanwhile, are also very good in two other important categories.

The Parkhead team secured a very respectable seventh place after announcing a record-breaking £40.7 million yearly profit for the previous fiscal year.

They made £29 million in revenue last year, up from £25.7 million.
