Galatasaray are interested in signing Glasgow Rangers defender Ridvan Yilmaz, but they will have to convince Philippe Clement and co. to allow him leave Ibrox this summer.

That’s according to Takvim and Fanatik, who both cover the player today and how the Turkish club is considering a move for him.

The former reveals that Galatasaray is looking to add five new players to its team this summer as they want to build on their success from last year and a season that presently has them sitting first in the Super Lig, two points ahead of Fenerbahce.

They are already planning to add to their roster, and Rangers defender Yilmaz is at the top of their list.

They’re interested in signing him, despite his history with Beşiktaş, but the ‘greatest obstacle’ they’re facing right now is that Rangers won’t let him leave Ibrox for loan.

However, Fanatik goes one step further and claims that Philippe Clement and his team have fully ruled out any transfer for the defender.

According to them, despite Yilmaz’s role as a backup to Borna Barisic this season, the Scottish club has no plans to let him depart in the summer.

Instead, it has been claimed that the Rangers intend to release Barisic while keeping Yilmaz on the roster.

As a result, any approach from Galatasaray to sign him, whether on loan or permanently, will be refused outright.
