Rangers set to swap Dresser for Hearts striker with 15goals and add  €2.1m on a 4years deal.

Before yesterday afternoon’s SWPL Sky Sports Cup Final, Rangers chose to place their own insignia over the Jambos crest, which infuriated Hearts.

Partick Thistle and Gers played a match in Tynecastle, with the former winning 4-1 over the Jags in Gorgie to win the trophy for the second consecutive year.

Hearts supporters were incensed at what they saw as a lack of respect as images of the Ibrox insignia covering the home team’s crest surfaced from the dressing room.

The team has now strongly said in a statement that Rangers were informed before to the game that

they were not permitted to use their own branding and that they had “defaced” their symbol.

“Heart of Midlothian Football Club is aware of images circulating of the home dressing room at Tynecastle Park during today’s Sky Sports Cup Final,

” the statement stated.

“Although the club gives the SWPL, the competition organizers, control over stadium operations on game day,

we participated in pre-match preparation. As a result, we would want to reassure our supporters that we have not approved any requests for branding in the changing rooms of the concerned clubs.

“Finding out that our desires were ignored is really upsetting. It is up to the SWPL and Rangers to figure out how this happened,

but it goes without saying that neither our fans nor we will accept any explanation as acceptable.

But in order to make sure that our club crest is never vandalized again, we will seek explanations.

“It is also regrettable that this action has taken away the focus from what was a successful cup final

and another opportunity to grow women’s football in Scotland.”
