Major development regarding the Rangers after the offer was made

According to sources who spoke with Football Insider, Rangers have extended a new contract offer to John Lundstram, but negotiations have not moved far.

The 30-year-old’s contract is scheduled to expire in the summer, making him a free agent.

Although there are concerns that Lundstram may be waiting for possible offers from Premier League clubs, sources claim that the Gers are still optimistic that he would prolong his time at Ibrox.

At nearly £20,000 a week, Lundstram is currently one of Philippe Clement’s highest paid players in the team.

Football Insider (March 11) reported that although Clement is personally attempting to finalize a contract for Lundstram, the midfield player is eager to consider his summertime options.

Rangers dread a move to the Premier League with Lundstram when a new contract is proposed.

The Rangers manager openly commended Lundstram for his contributions on and off the field, demonstrating his immense admiration for the midfielder.

Both on the field and in the locker room, he is a leader. It’s someone like them you need,” Clement remarked in December.

Lundstram joined the Glasgow giants Rangers in 2021 after leaving Sheffield United.

Throughout all competitions, he has made 144 appearances for Rangers, contributing seven assists and 11 goals.

Having played in all but two of the 2023–24 season’s games, Lundstram has been among the first names on the roster this year.

In other news, as he nears a departure, a 31-year-old Rangers player accepts a “big-money offer.”
