Danilo posts 19-word injury update as Nils Koppen reacts to Brazilian’s latest message

On December 6, the Brazilian striker faced Hearts away in the Scottish Premiership and was substituted midway

through the second half.

It seemed that the former Feyenoord player had not suffered too much damage as he hobbled off of the park.

However, it was then discovered that Danilo, who signed in the summer for an alleged £6 million, would have to

miss a very long time due to a collateral knee ligament injury.

After producing 11 goals in 21 games for the Ibrox giants, the 24-year-old was originally ruled out for after the winter

break in January. However, it was then revealed he will be missing at least four months of activity [Transfermarkt].

Throughout his recuperation, Danilo has shared numerous updates and videos of his progress on social media,

keeping Rangers supporters informed at every step of the way.

When he last gave his fans an update at the start of March, he said he was “almost there” when it came to rejoining

the Rangers first team.

Danilo has now shared his most recent encouraging update on his X account.

Although Danilo is probably going to be sidelined for the remainder of the season, Rangers supporters will be hoping

to see him play in one or two of the games following the split.

Even as a substitute, there’s a chance he won’t play if he’s healthy for a few of those matches.

The intensity of the Scottish Premiership title fight and the requirement for players who are ready for the field to

step up at a pivotal moment will determine this.

But that is still a ways off, and Danilo’s current priorities are finishing his protracted and difficult recuperation to return to full health.

With a video of himself working out, Danilo shared this statement with his fans on X on March 21st evening:

“Getting better, every day and can’t wait to be back on the pitch doing what I love the most.”

Nils Koppen, director of football at Rangers, was eager to respond to Danilo and provide his support. Koppen joined

the team four days prior to Danilo’s horrific injury against Hearts in December.

He only responded to the video with a 👌 emoji before Rangers supporters flooded his post with suggestions for

summer signings, such as David Watson of Kilmarnock and Lawrence Shankland.

“Get me some South American wonderkids and you can have whatever you want from me,” exclaimed one admirer.
