A big double FFP blow was given to Newcastle United as a transfer deadline issue surfaced.

Newcastle United may suffer a setback in their goal of making money on players this summer in order to abide with Premier League Profitability and Sustainability regulations.

International coaches might make it difficult for Newcastle United to sell players in the summer by denying their squad members entrance to the competition when they are in Europe in 2024.

In addition to Newcastle, Chelsea, Nottingham Forest, and Leicester City may also need to sell players by June 30 in order to stay inside the Premier League’s financial guidelines. Since Forest and Everton have already been charged this year,

breaking the Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR), formerly known as Financial Fair PLay (FFP),

could very likely result in them losing points the following season.

Earlier in the season, the Toffees were fined 10 points; however, it was later lowered to six on appeal.

On Monday, Forest was docked four points; they have the option to appeal the ruling.

The Daily Mail claims that during the European Championship,

it is “unlikely” that any agents will be permitted to meet with players to talk about possible moves. Two weeks after the deadline for balancing the books, on July 14, is when the German final will take place.

After suffering yet another setback, Sven Botman‘s future at St James’ Park seemed questionable,

but it now appears that the defender will be sticking around. The defender suffered a knee injury against Manchester City;

the club announced in a statement that he will have surgery and should be back on the field in six to nine months.

Although Botman was a candidate for a spot in Ronald Koeman’s starting lineup,

Newcastle might now have to wait longer to let go of the Dutchman.

Leicester is also under a lot of pressure to sell somewhere because they are facing two PSR charges.

Chelsea is under pressure to balance its books after spending so much during Todd Boehly‘s tenure. It’s unlikely that Forest will be impacted as much as other teams. Danilo, Murillo, and Morgan Gibbs-White—three of their most sought-after stars—will not be in the Euros.
