BREAKING NEWS: 777 Partners approval updated as imminent Premier League decision….

According to the Liverpool Echo, Everton “insiders” continue to maintain that 777 Partners’ purchase of the team is expected to be completed.

On March 16, Chris Beesley wrote on the website of the local publication that the club’s message is that there is still a positive “mood music” surrounding the eagerly anticipated Premier League verdict about the Americans’ bid.

Although the exact opposite has been suggested elsewhere, the journalist for the Echo conveyed a positive message from Goodison Park about the takeover dilemma by emphasizing the necessity of avoiding financial collapse and relegation if the team intends to retain star defender Jarrad Branthwaite.

“The club has rectified [their initial points deduction] through the appeal, which resulted in them gaining four points back,” Beesley wrote.

“It’s imperative that those within Goodison Park’s corridors of power ensure the Blues avoid a similar fate to [Portsmouth – deducted nine points for going into administration in 2009/10] because for all his endeavors, there would be nothing Dyche could do to save them then.”

777 Partners still expected to complete Everton takeover?

Some will feel greatly vindicated while others will be left with a bitter taste in their mouths when the Premier League eventually makes its decision regarding the takeover, which is anticipated to occur next week [Guardian, March 15].

Many reports have said that 777 cannot possibly arrive at Goodison Park, or is at the absolute least undesired, but noises from Josh Wander, his company, and the team have consistently suggested differently.

If they are turned down, it will undoubtedly hurt them more in the short term because their loans for the club’s operating expenses—which are estimated to have totaled almost £200 million in the last six months—would surely come to an end and the club’s financial situation would become grave.

Even if the dreaded administration is avoided, that could be enough to cause players like Jarrad Branthwaite and Amadou Onana to leave in the summer.

However, there are concerns in certain sectors that it might be worse in the long run for them to receive the go-ahead given how other clubs have performed under the direction of the Miami-based company.

And yet, as ever, throughout it all it is the Everton fanbase, and the team itself, that is stuck in the middle seemingly between a rock and a hard place.
