Six SPFL clubs are excited with Oscar Cortes’ vision as Rangers prepare for a transfer meeting in Rome.
The biggest transfer convention is taking place, and several Scottish teams have registered for it.
In March, six SPFL clubs will go to Rome for a transfer conference.
And all eyes are on who can sign the next rising star, as the Rangers signed Oscar Cortes in November off the
strength of a Lisbon convention. The’speed-dating’ of football transfers is slated to take place on Monday and
Tuesday, March 18 and 19, in Italy, as part of TransferRoom’s latest two-day event. Clubs are encouraged to participate.
The biggest clubs in the world hold in-person meetings lasting fifteen minutes or less to discuss incomings and
outgoings. Clubs from all around the nation have gone in the past; Rangers have often sent representatives, and in
recent years, Hibs, Hearts, and Aberdeen have all participated. Four Premiership clubs are visiting Rome this year
for a series of meetings; Rangers, Hibs, Motherwell, and Ross County are all sending important decision-makers. In
addition, Partick Thistle and Hamilton will be present when clubs meet with representatives and agents from other teams in the hopes of reaching an agreement.
Rangers signed a contract with Lens for Cortes in January after the Lisbon summit in November. Prior to an injury,
Cortes had shown a lot of promise. If the Gers exercise their option to purchase the Colombian player in the summer,
he could still end up on the team permanently.
Following a meeting with his Top Athlete Management agency, Ibrox chiefs learned of his availability and signed him
following a customized pitch from his representatives.
