Premium Report: Police releases investigative reports on alleged sexual assault by
Dak Prescott.
Dallas police announced on Thursday that they are looking into a claim that Cowboys
quarterback Dak Prescott was sexually assaulted in 2017.
The lady who submitted the complaint on Wednesday claims that seven years ago,
in the back of an SUV, Prescott assaulted her, prompting the investigation.
Prescott filed a lawsuit in Collin County on Monday, alleging that the woman and her
lawyers are extorting him for $100 million.
Meanwhile, the quarterback’s home town of Prosper, Texas, police are currently
looking into Prescott’s allegation of extortion.
Levi McCathern, Prescott’s lawyer, questioned the woman’s decision to contact the
police seven years after the alleged assault and this week’s start of the extortion
inquiry.
“Clearly they think that this will somehow mitigate their criminal responsibility for
attempting this illegal shakedown,” McCathern stated to ESPN.
“It is a true disservice to the actual survivors of sexual abuse, and it won’t happen.
We look forward to working with all law enforcement to bring this case to a just
resolution.”
Prescott is requesting more than $1 million in compensation, according to his
lawsuit, and he has promised to donate any money received to the Joyful Heart
Foundation, whose
goal is to “heal, educate and empower survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence
and child abuse,” or another “like-minded organization.”
In addition, slander and defamation, defamation in general, business disparagement,
tortious interference with existing or potential business relationships, civil
conspiracy, and deliberate infliction of emotional distress are all alleged in the 11-
page lawsuit.
According to the lawsuit, Prescott received a letter in January from lawyers Bethel
and Yoel Zehaie on the woman’s behalf, alleging that Prescott had sexually assaulted
her.
“She is willing to forgo pursuing criminal charges and disclosing this information to
the public in exchange for compensation for the mental anguish she has suffered,”
the letter said, despite the sad events.
The estimated amount of damages for (the accused victim) is $100,000,000.00.”
McCathern made the following comment in a statement released on Monday in
response to the lawsuit: “Mr. Prescott, a new father to a baby girl, has great empathy
for survivors of sexual assault.” He firmly feels that those who commit these kinds of
crimes ought to face the harshest penalties available.
To be clear, Mr. Prescott has never had sex with someone without their will.
Lies cause pain. in particular, dishonest lies.
We refuse to let the defendant and her attorneys make money off of this attempt to
demand millions of dollars from Mr. Prescott.”
In a statement released on Monday, Zehaie claimed that Prescott had admitted to
being with the victim the evening of the alleged 2017 attack.
A portion of the statement said, “We stand by the truth.” “Dak and his attorneys are
attempting to play victim-blaming, hardball, and bullying tactics.
The truth does not frighten us.
“Dak must be made to answer for his actions. He and his legal staff don’t scare us.”
