Doctor: Rangers player to miss training until end of April with potential Grade 3 hamstring tear
Dr Rajpal Brar has stated that Rangers forward Zak Lovelace is anticipated to be out from first-team practice until the end of April.
The 18-year-old is set to miss two months of action as a result of his hamstring tear, which he suffered during the first week of March, according to the injury specialist.
The club may choose to manage the injury conservatively if it turns out not to be a Grade 3 tear, as is widely believed.
Brar, a physical therapy physician and sports scientist, spoke exclusively with Ibrox News about his condition. He stated, “They’re being conservative with his timetable due to previous injuries in the same area and this sounds like a Grade 3 out of 4 hamstring tear or a lower grade tear.”
Given the approximate two-month timeframe provided, I would anticipate that he will begin with more basic strength and mobility exercises.
By the end of April or the beginning of May, “he will then progressively advance to higher intensity sport-specific work and finally to individual training and then team training.”
Due to an injury, Lovelace might have to wait for Rangers first-team opportunities.
The teenage striker has already experienced a long-term setback this season; it seems like he never seems to get a break due to injury.
He had missed several months of activity due to a hamstring strain in October, but he had just started playing for the B Team again.
He made his debut for the team back in 2022, but he will now have to wait until May at the latest to play again.
